We're Back!

It's been awhile since we've posted anything here, mainly because we haven't had anything to share on the home front. We've had a pretty busy summer and didn't have time for any projects. We're finally getting back to our to-do list and we'll have more to share soon!

We've spent the summer project free, enjoying mini trips with friends and family. We took advantage of living in New England and have made a few fun stops to Newport, New York, Cape Cod and New Jersey. My favorite part of living here is being only a short road trip away from so many fun destinations.
Now that the summer is winding down, we're getting back into full on project mode. Our main goal for August is to add more curb appeal to our home. We already completed a few projects like removing the pink shutters and painting them black, adding a cute new mailbox from Pottery Barn, adding a new fence, but now it's time to work on the greenery.

Jim is currently working on a project he's been hoping to do since we moved- cutting down the bushes in front of our house. They are completely overgrown and much too large for the space, so he wants to remove them and add new ones. He started this project last week by buying his first power tool, a very exciting thing apparently. He cut down all the bushes and the next step is to remove the roots, which doesn't appear to be too easy, since they are all pretty big. He's rented a stump grinder for the day. We're lucky because my dad is a huge help when it comes to the yard. He removed some overgrown trees last year and now he's here to help with the bushes.

While Jim and my dad work on the bushes, I'm working on a few curb appeal projects myself. I'll have updates soon.

What have you been up to this summer? Did you work on big projects, go on any exciting trips?

  1. I'm glad you're back! :) We're also working on our curb appeal, so it will be fun to follow along and see your progress as we're doing ours too.
